To learn a little bit more about software for graphics you first should understand what it is really meant. Well software for graphics is pretty much a way of building an image and manipulating its basic properties. The way these different software for graphics do this is by combining multiple programs and sometimes even just one program that gives user that ability. The ability to literally control the way a certain graphical image looks and animates. There are two categories for this graphical images that the user can manipulate.
The first one is the called the vector graphics and is recommend to be first on you're lesson plans. The vector consists of lines that can be curved rotated or straightened to give off a different graphical effect. With this type of image you can make it as large or small as you want. Business cards and poster boards often use this format because of the size capabilities witch results in little to no quality defects.
The second one is called Rastor graphics and is a little bit more complicated for beginners. This certain type is mainly used for building pixel images and is for more advanced graphic designers. This is made up of a data structure that creates a rectangular grid of pixels witch are points of color. It can be viewed on a monitor or display medium and paper. These Raster images are stored in image files that can have multiple formats.
You should also remember when deciding on what software for graphics program you are going to go with that some are not very good. Make sure that the software you are looking can understand a big library of image file formats. This can be a big problem if you happen to buy one that does not support something like JPEG or what ever else you may be using.
